Chapter 1
Maya
My life had been nothing short of a nightmare. Every time I thought I’d hit rock bottom, life found another way to drag me deeper. Losing my mom had left a wound I wasn’t sure would ever heal, and just when I thought I couldn’t take more pain, my boss decided to give me an option: either I spread my legs for him… or lose my job.
It sounded unreal but it was my reality.
The worst part? I was still a virgin. I had guarded that part of myself like a treasure, promising I’d only give it away when I was married, when it meant something. Now, all those promises and dreams seemed laughable. Either I sacrificed the last thing I thought I had control over or I lost the job that was barely holding my life together.
I sat on the edge of the bed in my best friend’s cramped room, staring blankly at the peeling wallpaper. This wasn’t even my place, I’d sold my own apartment to cover my mom’s hospital bills, clinging to the hope that maybe, just maybe, she’d survive but she didn’t. Life took her anyway, and left me broke, homeless and at the mercy of everyone else’s kindness.
I was so deep in my thoughts that I didn’t notice when the door creaked open.
“Girl, what are you sulking about now?” My best friend’s voice pulled me back. She flopped onto the bed beside me with her usual confidence, crossing her legs like she owned the world.

I hesitated for a second, then the truth spilled out. “I have to fuck my boss or lose my job.”
Her eyes widened for a moment, then a smirk curved her lips. “Damn. So he finally said it?”
I turned to her fully, shocked. “Wait…what do you mean ‘finally’?”
“Oh, come on, Maya.” She rolled her eyes. “The way that man looks at you, it was only a matter of time before he put his offer on the table and honestly…” she leaned closer, her shoulder brushing mine, “it’s not the worst deal in the world.”
I stared at her in disbelief. “Not the worst deal? Are you kidding me? I’m talking about losing my virginity to a man I don’t even like, just to keep a paycheck.”
Instead of sympathy, she smiled and leaned even closer until I could feel her breath against my cheek. “You’ve been clinging to that virginity like it’s some holy relic, maybe it’s time to stop guarding it and start using it.”
Her hand slid across my thigh, sowly.
You might think I should have pushed her away, but the truth is, I didn’t. From the first night I’d stayed here, she had made her conditions clear. If I wanted to crash at her place, I had to let her touch me. At first, I told myself it was humiliating, degrading, that
