The silk of my wedding dress whispered against the marble floor as I climbed the grand staircase of the Rodriguez estate, my heart hammering with anticipation. Rose petals—white and blush pink—scattered beneath my feet like fallen stars, each one a promise I had carefully placed hours earlier.
