My Fiancé Chose His Dead Brother’s Wife
Synopsis of My Fiancé Chose His Dead Brother’s Wife
Chapter 1
My former fiancé's sister-in-law fell ill, and he insisted on ending our engagement.
"Blair Meyer and her daughter Thalia have no one else now that she's ill. I can't just ignore them."
I didn't stop him; I agreed right away.
In a previous lifetime, I had coerced him into marrying me by threatening his family's business and leveraging my pregnancy. It ended in tragedy—Blair couldn't bear the pain and abandonment and chose to end her life on our wedding day. From then on, Skyler Castillo hated me with all his might.
He conspired with my enemies and, within six months, destroyed my parents' company, driving them to desperation where they took their own lives. He locked me away in a cellar, tormenting me daily until he eventually caused my death, costing two lives.
This time, I chose to let go.
The day he announced our breakup, I went to the clinic, terminated the pregnancy, and applied for a study opportunity in the United States.

"Alright, I agree to break up."
Skyler seemed surprised by my quick agreement but also relieved.
"Thank you, Genevieve, for understanding."
"Blair needs me now. Once she's stable, we can marry. I'll make it up to you with a grand wedding."
He spoke earnestly, as though I should be grateful for his promise. Yet, all I felt was a profound chill in my heart.
"Let's keep our breakup a secret for now. It'll be complicated to explain when I eventually get married."
I looked at the man I had loved for years, my lips curling in a bitter smile. Though both our families are well-known, they're not on the same level. For years, if my father hadn't discreetly supported his family, they would never have made it into high society. He was afraid of my parents finding out.
Lost in thought, Skyler suddenly pulled me out of his car.
"It's raining, and Blair's scared. I need to be with her. Dropping you off will take too long. You can walk down from here."
I stumbled as I tried to regain my balance.
"But here..."
Before I could finish, Skyler had already walked away without looking back. The rain pelted down, chilling me to the bone.
I walked the winding path for what felt like ages before finally encountering a kind stranger who helped me down the hill. By the time I got home, I was so exhausted I could barely stand.
Drenched by the rain, I caught a high fever that night, feeling utterly disoriented. After taking some medication, I intended to sleep when I received a message from my best friend.
She sent me a screenshot of Skyler's latest Twitter update. In the photo, Blair was nestled in Skyler's arms, the two of them looking nauseatingly sweet. The caption read: "I made the wrong choice before. Destiny allows me to keep you by my side now."
Even though I had already decided to let go, reading those words felt like my heart was being
