Synopsis of MY ALPHA CHEATS ON ME, I MARRY HIS ALPHA BESTFRIEND
Chapter 1
Maya's POV
Being in the same class with a guy who makes me giggle and tickle each time I set my eyes on him or he sets his eyes on me is the greatest fantasy.
Kennedy Jackson is that guy.
I can remember back in those days when we were kids and I'd come to live in the Jackson's estate newly, we were so close, child besties. My parents were wealthy and noble, recognized in the whole of New York City but tragedy struck when no one expected it and our business crumbled. We were a huge telecommunication giant but fraud committed by some of the relatives who were executives in the company destroyed the massive wealth my parents built.
We sank into depth and at the bridge of despair, the Jackson's, the leading capitalist family in the US came to our help but as nothing comes for free, we had to pay them in another way. Though it would never be enough for the huge millions of dollars they gave us to settle our debts, my parents turned servants. I didn't know if it was quite a generational servitude since I was just a kid, I was just smart enough to grab some of that information into my head.
After my dad and mom served in the estate where the Jackson's lived, they retired. I was happy, thinking now we can return back to our home to live a happy life but it wasn't so.
“Maya, it's now your turn. Make sure you remain a good girl. We don't want any complaints.” Mom said as she packed with dad.
“What are you saying, mom? Am I not coming with you?” I remembered asking her with a twisted face.
“No, you can't. You have to serve the Jackson's family, they have done so much for us and our years of servitude isn't even enough to repay them. You have to continue after us, perhaps if you please them they might let you marry their son, your best friend and only then can you be freed.” She winked at me. Her last statement is quite sarcastic at the same time sounding true. I knew she wanted to give me a hope that will motivate me to stay.
Kennedy, my best friend which she was talking of, is the first and only son of the President of Jackson's Conglomerate. He's just three years older than me, since we were the only kiddos in the house, we often played together. Status wasn't a barrier, his parents treated me like their child and we attended the same elite school up till now we are in college.
I can remember later on when he reminded me of my mom's words. “I'll marry you when you reach eighteen,” he had said one day while playing with our toys in the nursery. I'd asked if we would continue to be best friends forever.
I had a very wide smile, my heart beamed with happiness as he mentioned
