The crisp morning air filled my lungs as I raced through the forest, my paws barely touching the ground. Ten years together, six as mates, and still my heart quickened when his silver-gray form brushed against mine.

When we returned to our den that evening, I watched Ethan carefully. He moved around our home with practiced ease, but there was a new tension in his shoulders, a deliberate casualness that hadn't been there before.
