Madeline’s Point of View

Watching Liam and Love on the bed makes me realize just how pathetic ’ve been. I stood there emotionless, my breath caught in my throat. I couldn’t even make a noise, i cover my mouth with my hands.

My vision blurred and my hands got sweaty, I could barely stand. My world crumbled.

Before Dad had died, he had asked me to bring I’m a suitor. He couldn’t leave me all alone in the world with the burden of the company, he wanted someone by my side. Someone that would love and protect me.

I introduced him to Liam, we had just left college and we’re still trying to figure out ourselves.

Dad loved him instant. The wedding was the talk of town. The Billboards read “The Heiress Wedding”. Some even went as far as asking if he could be the right choice, for a long time I thought he was. Now I know better.

Men and women if dignitaries were in attended, Dad made sure he spared nothing.

“I can’t leave her now, she has to give me a child first” I hear Liam say as he strokes her hair. His voice cold.

I want to turn and run but I stay planted. I was done being the girl who would run and cry. The pity party Madeline. I was done with all that.

I know there’s an adage that says “An eye for an eye would only make the world go blind”, if that is all it takes to burn this two to the ground then that is what would happen.

“Do you think she can give you a child? It’s been years now. I know her dad made you sign that if you should get a divorce before that you get nothing but it’s taking too long” she whined, pouting as he kissed her lips before replying.

Love….she was supposed to be my best gr but her she was sharing a bed with my man.

I couldn’t bear to listen anymore so I turned and walked away, there was no way I would give them the satisfaction of seeing me broken.

I was going to get justice. I dial the family lawyer’s number and he picks up at the first ring.

“Hello, it’s me Madeline. I need your assistance on a legal issue, when can I come in?”

“I’ll be at the firm tomorrow, you can drop by”

“Okay, that’ll be great. I’ll see you tomorrow then”

I walked out of the house and got to the car. “Can you drive me to the movies” there’s a movie I want to see” i tell my driver putting on a smile, i didnt need him to get worried and ruin what I had in mind, I was going to deal with this my way and I was going to make sure he regrets it.

I got into the car and the emotions I was holding into came crashing down. Liam had shattered my heart
