Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Aria's POV

I inhaled deeply, locking eyes with Lucas who wasn't staring my way. I didn't know what to do. I keep wondering how I got to this place.

Ethan's eyes are on me the whole time. It was as if he has been waiting for this day to come. Both him and Mira exchanged looks with each other.

"She needs to be thrown out of the pack before she cause more trouble, don't you think?" A voice said from the crowd and everyone looked back to see Mira walking towards me.

"Who's she?"

"She's the Alpha's puppy"

"Little wonders"

"Who does she think she is?"

They murmured to their selves as she came close. She lifted my face up with my hair making me to yelp. It hurt so bad. It felt like my hair is pulling out of its scalp because I couldn't feel it anymore.

The tears that I was holding gradually started pouring out. My eyelids were heavy as I bit my lower lips, trying so hard not to break down in front of Mira.

"How dare you Mira? How dare you come up here to say such? Are you out of your mind?" Lucas spoke, his eyes glowing red from where he was seated.

I wished he could just look at me for a second and perhaps he might change his mind.

I felt the guards cold hands on my skin and I shivered as fear gripped me. My heart began racing faster and my vision became blur and the earth spin around me.

"Save me please " that was all I could recall before I fell into deep sleep admist the chaos.

*

I woke up surrounded with rogues wolves and they were looking all fiercely as they stared at me. I sat up and moved backward as dried leaves fell from my hair and my knee got bruised in the process.

"Who are you? How did you get here?" One of them asked, standing with hands placed on both sides of her waist.

"I don't know how I got here. It just happened accidentally" I said, swallowing hard.

Knowing the cause of my denouncement, I refused to tell anyone my secret. No one must find out that I'm a cursed child marked by the moon goddess.

"It just happened accidentally? How does that sound in your ears?" The woman said as she stared at the others who nodded in agreement before turning to look at me.

"As you can see I just woke up after sleeping for a while now" I said, trying to get on my feet.

They stared at me closely, still not satisfied with my answer.

"Okay, then. What's your name?" A woman asked my eyes narrowed.

"My name is Aria Vale." I replied and again they exchanged glances.

I fidgeted with my fingers not knowing what to do or say. If they get to find out that I'm from Silvermoon kingdom then it's over.

"I'll start leaving now" I said and stood up and started walking to God knows where. I'm unfamiliar with this place and looking over at it one would know that I'll get lost if I continue with the journey.

"That's not the way. A stream is out there and if you continue further you might end up drowning yourself to death" one of them said from behind and I paused almost short of words.

I didn't know what to say. True to her words, a stream was at the other end.

I quickly turned around to meet their gazes. "Pass through that route. It's more easy to get to your destination" The woman said , pointing at a free but little bushy part and I bowed lightly before running without looking back.

I felt their eyes on me as I ran but that isn't the problem right now.

I need to find a way to get to Lucas and talk with him. Everything still felt like a dream to me. I stumbled on a stone and I fell flat on the ground.

"Argh!" I winced, staring at my bleeding knee. "You're too clumsy, Aria " I warned, getting to my feet and inhaling sharply.

I continued with my walk. As I get closer, I saw bushes everywhere and I stopped turning around. It didn't feel like I'm leaving this place.

I won't be surprised if it turns out that those rogues I saw are illustrations. Before I knew it, tears slipped out of my eyes, hitting my feet.

My heart shattered as the memories of last night came flashing into my head. How Lucas had taken me to his room and look after me during my shift.

Everything happened so fast and unexpected. I didn't picture my life like this.

I shouldn't have been born cursed and marked. This is my fate.

I hear loud footsteps from behind and I turned around in a swift move but that was all I could remember before falling into a deep sleep.
