Chapter 2

I stood in my open grave, the freshly dug earth soft beneath my feet. The afternoon sun filtered through the oak leaves above, casting dappled shadows across my face. This would be my final resting place—not as Luna of the Blood Eclipse Pack, but as Olivia Adams, the woman I'd been before the mate bond consumed me.

My hands trembled slightly as I set up my phone on the small tripod I'd brought. The cemetery was quiet, peaceful even, as if the Moon Goddess herself had silenced the world to hear my story.

"Are you sure about this?" Elena whispered beside me, her healer's eyes filled with concern.

"More sure than I've been about anything in years," I replied, my voice steadier than I expected.

She squeezed my hand once before stepping back. I took a deep breath and pressed the livestream button on my phone.

"Hello," I said to the camera, my voice carrying across the global werewolf network. "My name is Olivia Adams, Luna of the Blood Eclipse Pack."

The viewer count began climbing immediately—thousands, then tens of thousands. I could see the comments scrolling past, most expressing shock that a Luna would broadcast live from a cemetery.

"I'm here today because I need to share the truth," I continued, my wolf stirring weakly within me. "The truth about what happens when a mate bond is neglected. When an Alpha chooses another over his Luna."

I held up my hand, showing the pale skin where my mating mark had begun to fade. "My wolf is dying. I am dying. The pack healer has given me months to live."

The comments exploded. I ignored them, focusing on the story I needed to tell.

"Yesterday, I discovered nearly two thousand photos of another woman on my mate's private drive. Two thousand moments he shared with her while I fulfilled my duties as Luna."

I described finding the photos, Maximus's cold reaction, his deletion of the evidence. My voice didn't break, though tears streamed silently down my face.

"I'm not here for sympathy," I said, looking directly into the camera. "I'm here because no Luna should suffer in silence. No mate bond should be treated as disposable."

The viewer count had reached millions now. The comments were a mix of shock, outrage, and support.

---

"LUNA OLIVIA!"

Maximus's roar cut through the cemetery's tranquility like a thunderclap. He appeared at the edge of the grave, his massive frame vibrating with fury. Behind him stood his Beta, looking pale and uncomfortable.

"Cut that livestream off. NOW." His Alpha tone slammed into me like a physical blow.

My knees buckled, but I grabbed the edge of the grave to stay upright. The phone wobbled on its tripod but remained broadcasting.

"You have no idea what you're doing," he snarled, stalking toward me. His Alpha aura expanded, pressing against my skin like a vise.

"I know exactly what I'm doing," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper but still audible to the millions watching.

"Stop this!" He reached for the phone, but I stepped between him and the device.

"Maximus," I said, using his name instead of his title for perhaps the first time in years. "The whole world is watching."

"I don't care!" he roared, but I could see the calculation in his eyes. His reputation, the pack's standing—these were what truly concerned him.

His Alpha tone intensified, forcing me to my knees. "As your Alpha, I command you to stop this broadcast immediately."

The viewers could see everything—his use of Alpha power against his dying mate, his prioritization of reputation over compassion.

---

A commotion at the edge of the cemetery drew our attention. Camille rushed toward us, her face a perfect mask of distress.

"Maximus!" she cried, throwing herself against his chest. "What's happening? I came as soon as I heard!"

Her scent—usually masked to appear fragile—seemed to waver for just a moment. The cameras caught it all.

"She's lying," someone commented with thousands of likes. "Look at her eyes—she's not surprised at all."

Camille buried her face in Maximus's shirt, her shoulders shaking with manufactured sobs. "I don't understand why she's doing this to us," she whimpered.

Maximus's arm went around her protectively, and something inside me—something that had been clinging to hope—finally broke free.

The comments exploded again, but these weren't supportive of the Alpha pair. They were outraged.

"That's her! The woman from the photos!"

"The 'savior' who's been manipulating him for years!"

"Look at how she's playing him, even now!"

I watched as Camille's carefully constructed facade began to crumble before the eyes of millions. Her masked scent slipped again, revealing something calculating beneath.

For the first time since I'd discovered the photos, I smiled—a small, sad smile that the camera caught perfectly.

"Hello, Camille," I said softly into the camera. "Would you like to explain to our viewers why you smell like lies?"
