Chapter 6

Chapter 6

I was about to turn to the next page when he walked in, Fred, it's been three years since I saw him but my heart was saying something different, I thought I had moved on from whatever it was we shared but I was wrong, no amount of time we did not spend together would erase the memories we shared

Fred was my savior and he had no idea I included him in my book. I mean why wouldn't I? He's my first love and everything I didn't know I wanted in a man, Fred, my sunshine. I still remember our first kiss like it was yesterday, but I was no longer 18 years old, I'm now 21 years old.

But I still feel like running into his arms, into the arms of the man who saved me from my nightmare, who stood by me through it all. But I know why he's here, do I? First his family said we can't be together, they said I was taking advantage of him and kindness, I mean who wouldn't think the same, he took care of half of my bills, even though I couldn't afford living comfortably in a huge city like New York but he assured me that I couldn't lack anything and he kept his words, I never did and maybe that's why his family assumed I was with him because of his money but that wasn't true, I really loved him with everything in me.

I could see the way, Josh was looking at me, he was giving me signal, as though he was trying to communicate something, I stared in curiosity, but then I noticed I have been quiet for a while now, while my audience were gazing at me, "I'm so sorry, got a little carried away" I said not meaning to be funny but they laughed, trying to ease the tension.

"Well, let's continue then" I said as I turned to the next chapter of my book

I can't say my family hates me but I mean the treatment I got was a little bit doubting if they didn't, I didn't say anything else, simply waved my mother goodbye and walked in while my siblings followed suit.

Immediately I stepped into the school premiere, I felt sick to my stomach, I guess I wasn't prepared but like I said earlier I don't have a choice

It was as though she knew I needed someone to cheer me up and there she was, Felly my best friend, unlike me she is a bit tall, slim, and beautiful sometimes I wonder why she even chose to be my friend, Felly was from a wealthy home, the kind of family that would often gift her friends, expensive things. Her dad is a well-known movie producer, while her mother owns a cosmetic brand in Florida. My first laptop was given to me by her mom, the first time she had introduced me to her mom as her best friend. Three months after the introduction, Felly celebrated her birthday, and her mother gave me the laptop as a thank you for the package. In all of this, Felly was down to earth, too humble to be noticed and too quiet to underestimated because you can never tell what's on her mind but whatever she was around me, she becomes a baby, despite being a wealthy kid, she goes to the same high school as the average kids, well the actual reason was because her grandmother together with her father built this school, so Felly and her siblings all attend the same use with us. "How was the holiday?" she asked, smiling. I smiled back, forgetting everything that had happened that morning.

"Nothing new but it's was exciting as usual" as the words were escaping my lips I noticed her attention wasn't on me, she was busy staring at Sam, and surprisingly he was staring right now, the kind of eye contacts that tells you there is definitely something going on, he smiled and then I saw it, he just winked at her, seriously? I whispered, though I thought I said it out loud, she didn't frown when he did that instead she blushed.

It all began to make sense, the mind-blowing stuff she texted me about this morning, it's all Sam, I mean, how come? Don't get me wrong, I'm not jealous or anything, but it's surprising, you know that one person you just don't associate with simply because your best friend told you they weren't good people? It was Sam.

Although I never had an encounter with him personally even before Felly and I became friends but I could tell he was not the quiet or simple kind of guy, Sam was somehow a show off, there's no way Sam would do something big and it would die down with him, everyone knows, sometimes we would be eating in the cafeteria, Sam and his guys would be laughing while they would be cheering for him over God knows what, Felly would look over at their corner with nothing but irritating eyes, sometimes I do laugh, she would then turn and say to me "God! I just hate that Sam is a guy, thinking he's always better than everyone, what a show off" I would always smile whenever she made those comments. It wasn't anything new.

And if I'm not wrong, they were both smiling at each other, before I could demand an explanation or maybe confirm my doubts, he walked up to us, "Hey Anna," he said, without waiting for a response, he shifted his attention to Felly, "So I will see you during lunch?" He asked in a flirty manner. Felly nodded her head. He smiled and walked away.

The school bell rang, indicating classes were about to begin," Seriously? I guess this is my mind-blowing surprise, huh?" I said and walked away, I wasn't mad or jealous. I mean, I never looked at Sam in that way, not even for once, but I know it wasn't right, especially when she's the one who told me to avoid him.

As soon as I entered the class, I intentionally sat down next to someone else so she wouldn't have the opportunity to sit beside me, like she always does. Felly quickly walked in and since the seat beside me was already taken she decided to sit at my back.......
