Lulu was astonished but decided to hide it, "of course I remember sir, I'll go get ready right away."
She left his study, how could dr Lopez have left out such an important piece?
Millet was waiting in her bedroom with all the accessories she needed.
She didn't have time to read the contract papers to see this information.
"Sir will be waiting so we need to hurry."
She put her in a green silky dress that hugged her curves, her hair was in a ponytail and her face was put in slight makeup that accented her features.
At the artist event.
It was a huge one, many wealthy people are gathered to see the famous David Carlson.
"All you need to do is stay by my side." David said in a cold, stern voice.
Lulu felt out of place, she nodded in response.
"Is that really a woman with David Carlson?"
"Who is the mysterious woman by his side?"
Multiple camera flashes were soon tossed their way, all types of questions by the reporters.
Lulu was still so caught up in the mess when she noticed two familiar figures at the very end of the hall admiring an art piece on the wall.
"Emery and Alex?"
"Mr Carlson, please can you come with us to view the new art work from the museum sir?" A voice came from beside them.
David Carlson nodded, "stay right here, I'll be right back."
Lulu was left to stand by herself, in a place filled with so many affluent people.
"Why would they be here?" She wondered and then she remembered Emery is an upcoming artist herself, this only confirmed her suspicions that Alex had been lying all these years about his wealth, he was secretly wealthy to be able to afford an event like this.
Why did he lie to her he was poor? She wondered.
Emery was clinging to Alex's arm like glue, smiling wide and chatting away.
As if he could sense her gaze, Alex's eyes landed on Lulu.
Emery wondered what had caught his attention and soon saw Lulu.
She immediately came to where Lulu was standing.
"Are you that shameless that after everything you still followed us here?"
"Why would I?"
Emery scanned her outfit, "isn't that the limited designer dress? Who did you bribe to make you such a fake copy?"
"And that diamond necklace?" Emery's eyes widened, "have you become a thief now Lulu?"
"I will not let you talk me down after everything you've done to betray me!"
"Stop being so shameless, you stalked us here, how did you get in? This is an invite only event, I am here to see the famous David Carlson and to get his autograph, Alex bought me the ticket." She blushed heavily, "he loves me and that's something you'll never be able to enjoy."
"I have no interest in speaking to you Emery, stay away from me." Lulu tried to keep her voice down, now that everyone saw her with David, she must be careful not to ruin his reputation.
"You're just jealous Alex always loved me, and I'm giving him a child when you couldn't..."
Lulu had enough, she struck her hard in the face.
That immediately drew more attention from the reporters that were around them.
Emery held her affected cheek in shock and soon started to wail to gather more attention, "how can you hit me for saying that I loved your dress?"
"How dare you?!" Alex rushed to their side, "how can you treat Emery this way! Don't you know she's with child!" He cuddled Emery who had broken into tears, against his chest.
He pushed Lulu out of the way, causing her to stumble backwards.
"Are you hurt Emery?"
"She hit me for nothing!"
"I'll make sure she's punished, don't you dare lay your hands on her ever again, or I'll make you pay."
Lulu couldn't believe this was the behaviour from her once dear husband.
"How dare you raise your hand at me?!" Emery lifted her hand to strike back but a huge hand suddenly gripped her wrist.
"What is going on here?"
The thick voice belonged to David Carlson.
All the guests and reporters mumbled even louder, "who is really this woman? Why is David Carlson holding her so closely?"
Emery was in shock, "Mr Carlson? Why are you here?"
He let go of her hand like it was disgusting, she stumbled backwards but Alex caught her to stabilise her.
David Carlson scanned his surrogate, "are you hurt?"
She shook her head a little.
"Mr Carlson, how can you support this terrible woman?" Emery was astonished.
"Yes, who is this woman to you?! Everyone has been asking!" A reporter yelled back.
"She is my wife," David Carlson informed the public immediately.
